The college library has prepared a book exhibition to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the birth of Maksym Rylsky (1895 – 1964), a Ukrainian poet and public figure: “There are a hundred languages, but only one truth” and to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian poetess Lina Kostenko (1930): “The only one who does not get tired is time. And we are alive, we need to hurry”
Maksym Rylsky is one of the representatives of the “neoclassics”. His work combines lyricism, philosophical depth and mastery of the word. Famous collections: “On the White Islands”, “Holosiivska Osin”. He also translated world classics into Ukrainian.
Lina Kostenko – her poetry is distinguished by deep philosophical, patriotism and sophistication of style. The most famous works: the novel in verses “Marusya Churay”, the collections “On the Banks of the Eternal River”, “The Garden of Unfading Sculptures”. She fundamentally avoids publicity and remains a moral authority for Ukrainians. Her word is not just poetry, but a weapon that breaks indifference, awakens consciousness and gives hope.
