“Physical and biological aspects of modern energy”

On 04/30/25, as part of the week of natural and mathematical disciplines, with the participation of first-year students, teachers Lyubov KASARDA and Myroslava KUNDRIA held an information hour of interesting messages on the topic: “Physical and biological aspects of modern energy”

At the event dedicated to discussing the topic of modern traditional and alternative energy, the attendees drew attention to the importance of developing energy sources both to meet the needs of humanity and to preserve the planet’s natural resources. During the event, the participants considered the advantages and disadvantages of both directions in this strategically important industry.

First, all attendees heard a report in the form of a presentation on traditional energy sources, where the principle of operation of nuclear power plants, thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants was presented and they got acquainted with the structure of electricity production in the world.

The students listed all the advantages and disadvantages of various traditional power plants and realized their positive and negative significance for the environment, meeting the needs of enterprises, organizations and household consumers in electrical energy; they saw their significant advantage over other energy sources when labor protection and safety precautions are observed during their production.

During the event, attendees also had the opportunity to view a meaningful presentation on alternative sources of electricity, their types, the principle of operation of solar, wind and hybrid power plants, which made it possible to understand how this direction of electricity production is developing in the world and in Ukraine, as well as to realize how effective it is at the moment, what problems arise during implementation and their impact on the environment, human health and the ecosystem as a whole.

The interactive game “Fact or Fake” aroused particular interest among students, in the process of which they answered questions related to energy. For correct answers, participants received sweet prizes — chocolate candies, which significantly increased the motivation and activity of students.

The students were positively impressed by the interesting video “Hydropower of the Future”, where scientists from Germany proposed new approaches to obtaining environmentally friendly energy along with preserving the river ecosystem, where all living organisms that inhabit them live and reproduce freely.

The creative and symbolic part of the event was the moment when each attendee could pull out their personal “energy message to the Universe” from a glass vase in the form of a note with a wish and a lollipop, which aroused positive emotions and lively interest among the students.

An interesting highlight of the event were video memes, a humorous energy horoscope for all zodiac signs, created by first-year students of the “Food Technologies” specialty, which combined physical and biological humor with the topic of energy. Watching this video gave the participants a good mood on a cheerful and friendly note.

At the end of the event program, those present heard information about the problems of installing windmills in Transcarpathia, their impact on biodiversity and ecosystems, about the possibilities, prospects and problems of launching wind farms in our region, and came to the conclusion that their introduction in the high-mountainous territories of local communities is inappropriate, as this could cause an ecological disaster in this area.

At this event, everyone present not only had a great time, but also learned something important: energy is not just physics and numbers, it is our future. And it is we who decide what it will be – clean, safe and smart. Thank you to everyone present for your activity, positivity and interesting thoughts! See you again and may energy be with us – renewable of course!
